FUNCTIONS OF CO2 INCUBATOR:
- The purpose of a CO2 incubator is to maintain an optimal environment for cell growth, by providing carbon dioxide control in a humidified atmosphere with constant temperature.
- chamber capacity, the volume of the chamber that is available for allowing growth; temperature range, the range of temperatures the incubator can control; temperature control accuracy, the closeness of an indication or reading of a measurement device to the actual value of the quantity being measured.
SCOPE OF APPLICATIONS:
- The CO2 incubator is used for providing and maintaining the optimum temperature, controlling the environment’s humidity, and regulating the levels of necessary gases such as oxygen and carbon dioxide. Aside from that, the incubator is also responsible for protecting the precious cultures from microbial contamination.
- Incubators are used to grow microbial culture or cell cultures. Incubators can also be used to maintain the culture of organisms to be used later. Some incubators are used to increase the growth rate of organisms, having a prolonged growth rate in the natural environment.
