DESCRIPTION

CONTROL PANEL:

• The machine is equipped with a control panel that allows the operator to input and program the desired dimensions, cutting paths, and other parameters.

CHUCK:

• The workpiece is securely held in a chuck, which rotates the workpiece while the cutting tool removes material to create the desired shape.

SPINDLE:

• The spindle is responsible for rotating the chuck and workpiece. CNC turning machines can have a single spindle or multiple spindles for simultaneous machining operations.

TOOL TURRET:

• A tool turret or tool changer holds various cutting tools, allowing for different operations without manual tool changes. This feature enhances the efficiency of the machining process.

TAILSTOCK:

• Some CNC turning machines have a tailstock for additional support and stabilization of longer workpieces.

AXIS MOVEMENT:

• CNC turning machines typically operate with two main axes, X-axis and Z-axis. The X-axis represents the longitudinal movement of the cutting tool, while the Z-axis represents the axial movement along the workpiece.

PROGRAMMABLE CONTROL:

• CNC turning machines rely on computer programs to control the movement of the cutting tool. These programs can be created manually or generated using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software.
