BLOW MOULDING MACHINE
Make Dinesh Scientific
DESCRIPTION:
By inflating a heated plastic tube, called a parison, inside a mold, blow molding is a manufacturing technique used to create hollow items, usually plastic containers. This method is frequently employed in the production of hollow plastic items like as bottles and containers. An overview of a blow molding machine’s functioning is provided below:
PARISON EXTRUSION:
- The first step in the process is the extrusion of plastic material into a parison, or tube shape. Typically, thermoplastic polymers like polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), or polyethylene terephthalate (PET) are used to make this parison.
MOLD FASTENING:
- The parison is sandwiched between two mold sections. The purpose of the mold is to specify the final product’s shape. The parison is held firmly in place by clamping the mold closed.
WARMING:
- The parison is heated to a temperature where it becomes soft and malleable and the mold closes around it. The plastic can conform to the shape of the mold thanks to the heat.
PROCEDURE FOR BLOW MOLDING:
- A mandrel or blow pin is placed into the tube once the parison has reached the proper temperature. The parison is then blown with compressed air, which causes it to expand and take on the shape of the mold.
REFRIGERATION:
- The plastic is chilled to solidify and maintain its shape after it has taken on the shape of the mold. The mold may need to have water or air circulated over it during this cooling phase.
OPENING OF THE MOLD:
The completed result is seen when the mold opens after the plastic has cooled and set. Usually, the flash excess plastic is chopped off.
REMOVAL:
- After the completed product is released from the mold, the apparatus is prepared for the subsequent cycle.
