MAGNETIC STIRRERS WITH HOT PLATE
MAKE DINESH SCIENTIFIC
DESCRIPTION:
A magnetic stirrer is a type of lab instrument that generates a magnetic field that rotates, causing a stir bar, sometimes called a flea, to spin and mix the liquid it is submerged in. This device is frequently used in biology and chemical labs for a variety of tasks, such as homogenizing liquid samples, dissolving solutes, and mixing solutions.
THE MAIN PARTS OF A MAGNETIC STIRRER ARE DESCRIBED AS FOLLOWS IN GENERAL:
BASIS UNIT:
The magnetic stirrer’s flat or cylindrical base unit usually makes up its primary body.
The motor and control systems that produce the magnetic field are housed there.
MOTOR:
The rotational force required to rotate the magnetic stir bar is produced by the motor.
Typically, a low-speed electric motor is used to guarantee a steady and regulated stirring action.
PANEL OF CONTROL:
Magnetic stirrers frequently have a control panel that lets the user change how quickly the stirring occurs.
Additional features like temperature control or programmed settings might be included in some advanced versions.
ACTIVATING SURFACE:
A flat or curved surface on top of the base unit is usually available for placing containers or vessels.
This is where the magnetic stir bar is immersed in the liquid stirred.
GENERATOR OF MAGNETIC FIELD:
A magnetic field generator sits beneath the stirring platform. A magnetic field is often produced by a revolving magnet or set of magnets.
The magnetic stir bar interacts with the magnetic field that penetrates the bottom of the container.
STIR BAR:
Often called a flea or stir rod, the stir bar is a small, oval- or cylindrical-shaped piece of magnetic material (such PTFE or PTFE coated).
The stir bar spins when submerged in a liquid on the stirring platform, swirling the liquid as a result of the magnetic field.
ENERGY SOURCE:
Electricity powers magnetic stirrers, and most of them come with a power wire that plugs into a regular electrical socket.
ADDITIONAL FEATURES
- Measurement of viscosity trend
- Corrosion-free heating plate and thermocouple
- Automatic reverse rotation
